Remembering Hurricane Ivan

In the early morning hours of Sept. 16, 2004, Hurricane Ivan changed the lives of thousands in Pensacola and along the Gulf Coast. We'll never forget that devastation — just as we will remember the resolve of all of our friends and neighbors as we worked together to recover.

Pensacola has grown a lot in the 14 years since Ivan. And together we are going to continue to Build Pensacola.

And it is in that same spirit that we reach out to our friends and family along the East Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. They are grieving, just as we did. They will mourn the loss of life, just as we did. They will rebuild, just as we have. And they will grow and celebrate their communities again, just as we have continued to do.
